Thanks to all of you who came out on Friday at "Music With Friends" at Kat's Cafe! The place was packed, and the show was awesome! We didn't even know there was tornado two exits down the road! The show started with HB and his band The Truth! After a short break, I came up to the mic and started with Al Green's "Let's Stay Together." The crowd was definitely into it. After a couple of more songs, I brought up Brandon who plays the flute. He rocked it with "Lost Without You." I closed with my favorite, Luther Vandross' "So Amazing." It was an incredible evening. Make a WISE and INTELLIGENT CHOICE, but VOTE! - October 22, 2007

Because of the peril and situation our country and world face today, it's essential that we make intelligent decisions in electing our next President. I know everybody has their favorite, but at least have reasons beyond she's a woman or he's black. Know the issues and voting record history of your candidate. Research their work and things they've done before running for President. Be informed, and then vote! I know who I"M voting for...hint (he was one of the few Senators who voted AGAINST the Iraq War!)

Concert Reviews - May 28, 2007

Thanks to all of you who came out to my last two performances. The comedy event at St. James was awesome. AJ Jamal was hilarious and artists who sang were incredible. Watch out for this new female singer (Avery Sunshine). Great voice and great spirit! Thanks again to Jackie and the St. James UMC family.
The Healing Temple musician's appreciation was a moment for me. I was able for the first time to sing my original music at the church in which I was raised. To be in the pulpit where my pastor, the late Bishop P. J. Welch preached and recorded songs was incredible. Thanks to Michele Wells and the Healing Temple family for inviting me to help recognize their musicians. Big shouts to Jonathon 'Swole' Dumas and Jerod Dumas for making it happen once again. I have many ideas and concerts that are in the planning. Keep checking the website for upcoming concert dates. Take care and remember to love one another. Check out the photo link to see pictures from the past two concert events.

Thanks for a Great Concert!!!! - October 23, 2006

Thanks to all of my friends in Jones County for coming out to help celebrate a great concert of music. Valerie Milam was awesome singing "Alabaster Box." She was assisted by Lynwood Holmes, pianist from Augusta, Georgia. Gerald Ricks, Craig Wright, Jerod and Jonathan played superb music. Thanks to Emily Felton, Marilyn Blount, and Nikki Curry also. Big shout to Debbie Lurie-Smith for the article in the JC News. Remember to love one another!!!

What's been happening... - September 28, 2006

The Atlanta Falcons are now into the 2006 regular football season, and I'm glad about it! We are now 2-1.
My mom was very sick and hospitalized, but now she's doing much better. Thank God!!!!
I recently sang with Soul Intentions in Macon at Lafaye's Cafe. This is an intimate restaurant that features New Orleans style cuisine. I love the ambiance. Ilook forward to going back and performing there again.
The war in Iraq is still raging, and I still think we have lost and can never win this way. War is NOT the answer, only LOVE can conquer hate (Marvin Gaye).
Whitney Houston is working on a new cd project! Yes....
Talk to you all soon!

Falcons Win Preseason Opener 26-23!!! - August 12, 2006

The Atlanta Falcons beat the New England Patriots in their first preseason game 26-23! Michael Vick looked comfortable and poised; he showed his 'Vickspeed' on a 16 yard run that set up a field goal on Atlanta's opening drive. Other players that stood out in my opinion were: Matt Schaub ( threw a pretty pass to Michael Jenkins for Atlanta's 1st touchdown of the season), Michael Jenkins made an awesome grab! Jordan Beck put the wood on several plays. That guy knows how to bring the fire when he tackles! John Abraham caused a fumble by the Patriot's QB. Rookie Jerious Norwood showed that he definitely needs to be on the field THIS year. D.J. Shockely calmly navigated a 2 minute drive at the end of the game to set up the game winning field goal. Which leads to my MVP for this game, Michael Koenen! We finally have a kicker who can actually kick. He was 4 for 4! I'll keep you posted on this year's Falcons season. Get ready for next week's opponent, Green Bay Packers! Click on my links page to visit the official Atlanta Falcons website.

Soul Intentions Concert!!! - July 22, 2006

The Soul Intentions cd release concert was awesome! Jerod, Jamie, and Jonathan (soul intentions) played outstanding, creative, inspiring music that had everyone amazed. I was honored to host and perform. Other singers included Stefaun, April Houston, and Jennifer Carner. Alphonso Thomas made a guest appearance on sax. He played "Speak To My Heart," and received a standing ovation. Stefaun had the crowd grooving, Jennifer Carner sang two originals and the spirit was sooo high, we didn't want to end the moment. April Houston sang a moving original "In Times Like These" inspired the tragic events of 911. Everyone seemed to have had a blast! Soul Intentions cd's can be purchased by visiting their website: 4dasoulmusic.com

Just thought you should know! - June 30, 2006

1. Osama Bin Laden has relased another videotape
2. Supreme Court rejects Pres. Bush's unlawful commissions on handling terrorist prisoners.
3. FBI evidence on Miami terrorist ring looks 'thin'
4. Kirk Franklin wins BET gospel award
5. The federal minimum wage, currently $5.15 an hour, hasn’t changed since 1997; the latest proposal to increase it was recently shot down by U.S. Senate Republicans. Interesting, considering these same Republicans had no problem voting to increase their own pay each year for the last several years.

Fun at Sweet Auburn Festival! - May 16, 2006

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a blast at this year's Sweet Auburn Festival. Friday evening was eventful. It took a while for the sound equipment to be set up, so we were a little behind schedule. The performance was good and many people gave positive and encouraging compliments. Saturday was even better; the sound was great and even though it rained on Saturday, when we performed it was BEAUTIFUL. The area behind the stage was significant in that the MLK Center for Nonviolent Change was there. I sang My Heaven, Just When You Build It Up, He's My Friend, God's Glory, and What's Going On. The artists that sang before and after me were great as well. The spirit and vibe was positive and I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Marilyn Blount, Nikki Curry, and Gerald Ricks! Hope all of you had a blessed Mother's Day. Much love to all! Continue to check website for future events and performances. God Bless!

I Just Wanna Dance! This year's Cherry Blossom Festival was Awesome! - March 27, 2006

Wow! What a great time we had at this year's Cherry Blossom Festival. Thanks to all of my former students and coworkers at Jones County for coming out. To all of my family and friends thank you. Thanks Ms. Caines for traveling from Atlanta to attend the performance. The stage and crowd was fantastic. We had so much fun! Jonathan, my producer, rapped on the song "My Heaven." The crowd came up in front and danced like crazy on the song "Dance!" It was a little chilly outside, but the atmosphere was very inviting and relaxing. Please pray for Ms. Lewis and her family. She came to both performances on Saturday. Special thanks to Brandi Walker for taking pictures. Thanks to Lynn Gray for taking pictures and helping to sell the cds. I look forward to the next performance. Until then, love one another!!!!!
